Ellen S. Weinstein
Head of the General Practice Group.
Ellen S. Weinstein received a B.A. degree in 1969 and an M.S. degree in 1971 both from Brooklyn College, City University of New York. She received her Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, from the Syracuse University College of Law in December 1990 and was awarded membership in the Order of the Coif.
Ms. Weinstein was admitted to practice law in New York in June 1991. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of New York and the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of New York.
Professional and Public Service -
Ellen is a member of the American, New York and Onondaga County Bar Associations and each of these organizations’ Health Law Sections and a member of the Conference of Freight Counsel. A former President of the Onondaga County Bar Association, Ellen currently serves on its Executive Committee as Immediate Past President. She is a former Director of the Onondaga County Women's Bar Association,member of the New York State Bar Association's House of Delegates and its Nominating Committee.
She has contributed articles to professional publications and has lectured before various medical and legal groups and institutions and on behalf of the Medical Society of the State of New York (Quick Learn Series for Residents).
Community Service -
Ellen currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Syracuse Jewish Federation and Temple Adath Yeshuran. She is a past president of the Jamesville-Dewitt Middle School Parent-Teachers’ Group and has served on the Jamesville-Dewitt District School Board’s Long-Range Planning Committee. She has served and continues to serve in various capacities with many other local community service and religious organizations.
Ellen and her husband, Dr. Howard Weinstein, reside in Dewitt, New York and are the proud parents of four and grandparents of six children.
