Philip C. Pinsky

The firm and Philip Pinsky are registered lobbyists in the State of New York. 

Philip Pinsky has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1962.  He received a B.A. degree from Syracuse University in 1959, his LLB degree from Syracuse University in 1961 and a Masters of Law Degree in Taxation from New York University in 1962.  Philip is admitted to the New York State Bar and is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and all four United States District Courts located within the State of New York and the US Tax Court. 

Public Service –
Philip Pinsky served as First Assistant Counsel to the New York State Senate Majority (1981-1988) and as an Assistant Counsel to them (1972-1981).  He served as Chief Counsel to the Temporary State Commission on Child Welfare (1974-1981) and served as Assistant Welfare Attorney and then Chief Welfare Attorney for the Onondaga County Department of Social Services (1970-1973).  He held a teaching fellowship at the New York University School of Law and served as Adjunct Professor of Law at Syracuse University College of Law.  Philip has lectured to numerous groups throughout the United States. 

Honors –
Philip was honored in 1987 by the New York State Bar Association as the first recipient of the Howard A. Levine Award for Excellence. In 1989, he received a Syracuse University Chancellor's Citation for Distinguished Achievement - "in recognition of the profound and lasting influence you have had on government in New York State."  He was elected a member of the American Law Institute in 1988; and in 1993, he received the prestigious Esther and Joseph Roth Award for Outstanding Leadership from the Syracuse Jewish Federation.

Community Service –
Philip is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Loretto, one of the largest geriatric care providers in New York State.  Philip currently serves as Trustee Emeritus, having been elected to such position by the Loretto Board of Trustees in October 2004.  He also is a former president of the Syracuse Jewish Federation.  Philip is a member of the Board of Directors of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and the Board of Directors of Syracuse Stage.  He is a past member of the Board of Advisors of the Syracuse University College of Law.  He also is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Transportation Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association (including its Health Law Section) and the Onondaga County Bar Association.
